LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The BlueClaws were officially eliminated from the playoff race on Friday night at FirstEnergy Park, as the Hagerstown Suns scored four runs in the ninth inning to take a 5-2 victory over the Lakewood. The BlueClaws and Suns entered the ninth inning tied, 1-1, but Hagerstown got four runs on four hits off of reliever Reymond Cruz. Jake Rogers tripled with the bases loaded off of Cruz (0-2) to score three runs and put the game out of reach.

Naylor strikes out 11 in eight-inning performance
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Drew Naylor struck out a season- high 11 and the BlueClaws offense did the rest, powering Lakewood to an 11-1 victory over Lexington on Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Park. Naylor pitched eight innings, giving up just one earned run on five hits. It was his longest outing of the season and hi 11-strikouts were the most by any BlueClaws pitcher since Scott Mitchinson struck out 11 on Sept. 2, 2007.

Lakewood takes error-filled 6-1 win at Delmarva

Five Shorebirds errors contribute to comfortable victory
SALISBURY, Md. - The BlueClaws took full advantage of five Delmarva errors at Perdue Stadium on Saturday night, claiming a 6-1 win to open the final series of the 2008 season. The Shorebirds, who are statistically the worst defensive team in the South Atlantic League, gave up three unearned runs thanks to their defensive miscues. Ryan Adams set the South Atlantic League record for errors by a second baseman in the game by picking throwing away two baseballs. Adams now has 52 errors this season.

'Claws put up all 13 runs in final three innings
The Lakewood BlueClaws were able to overcome a four-run deficit not just once, but twice on Friday at Classic Park, taking a wild 13-8 victory over Lake County. Lakewood trailed 4-0 and 8-4 in the game, but scored 13 runs over the final three innings, four in each the seventh and eighth and five in the ninth, to capture a come-from-behind win.
