The BlueClaws scored nine straight runs after falling behind early to take a 10-5 win over West Virginia on Monday night at FirstEnergy Park. Lakewood trailed 5-1 after just an inning and a half, but the offense mounted its biggest rally of the season to earn a series split against the seventh-place Power.

Chris Kissock, Moises Melendez and Joe Rocchio combined to keep the Greensboro Grasshoppers off the board and help the BlueClaws to a 2-0 win on Friday night at FirstEnergy Park. It was the first shutout of the season for the BlueClaws, who have pitched 16 straight scoreless innings, a new season high.

The BlueClaws blew a lead for the third straight game, falling to Greensboro 7-4 on Wednesday afternoon at NewBridge Bank Park. The BlueClaws (19-20) were in complete command with a 4-0 lead in the sixth inning and starter Chance Chapman cruising. But the 'Hoppers got two runs in the sixth and added five more in the seventh to win their third straight over Lakewood.

Lakewood no-hit for 6 2/3 innings
The BlueClaws did not pick up a hit through the first 6 2/3 innings on Tuesday night and their late-game rally fell short as Lakewood dropped a 3-1 decision to Greensboro at FirstEnergy Park. Greensboro starter Kyle Kaminska did not allow a hit in his six innings on the mound, as the 'Claws were held hitless until Matt Rizzotti singled up the middle with two outs in the seventh against Eric Basurto.

BlueClaws stay hot with 8-7 win over Hagerstown

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Lakewood overcame a shaky start from Chris Kissock and got a key contribution from Michael Taylor to take a 8-7 victory over Hagerstown on Monday night at FirstEnergy Park.
Taylor’s seventh inning solo home run proved to be the game-winner, as the BlueClaws slugger took Kyle Gunderson deep. The home run, which was estimated at 431 feet, was the ninth of the year for Taylor, who is leading the South Atlantic League in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage. He finished two-for-four with two RBIs.

Lakewood held to five hits in blowout loss
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Joey Mahalic shut down the BlueClaws offense, limiting Lakewood to two hits in six innings, and helped the Lake County Captains to a commanding 9-2 win on Saturday night at FirstEnergy Park. The BlueClaws were limited to a five hits by Mahalic, Kyle Landis and Vinnie Pestano. Meanwhile, Lake County bashed 14 hits, including eight doubles, against four different BlueClaws pitchers.

Shorebirds shutout 'Claws 3-0 to take series
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The BlueClaws saw their playoff chances take another hit on Wednesday night at FirstEnergy Park, as Nate Nery led Delmarva to a 3-0 victory over Lakewood.
The loss pushed the BlueClaws four games behind first-place West Virginia with five games remaining in the regular season. The Power were off on Wednesday and will face Kannapolis at home for their final five games of the season.

BlueClaws sweep doubleheader from Kannapolis

Lakewood wins 7-4 before taking 1-0 walk-off victory
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The BlueClaws won with power and they won with pitching on Monday night, sweeping a doubleheader over Kannapolis at FirstEnergy Park. Lakewood outslugged the Intimidators 7-4 in Game 1, before pulling off a 1-0 walk-off eight-inning win in Game 2.
The BlueClaws got to the first Kannapolis pitcher of the day, Charlie Shirek, in a big way in Game 1. The Intimidators starter gave up six runs on nine hits in just two innings before turning things over to his bullpen. But by that point things were too late for the Intimidators who hung tough but could never erase the early deficit.

Beat former Lakewood pitcher Zack Segovia in Game 2
HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The BlueClaws had gone 0-6 in their first six seven-inning doubleheader games. On Tuesday afternoon it was a different story for Lakewood, who swept a twin bill against the Hagerstown Suns, winning both games by an identical 4-2 score.
Lakewood defeated one of its own in Game 2, taking down former BlueClaw hurler Zack Segovia. Segovia, who was released by the Phillies last month, made his first South Atlantic League start since 2003. The right- hander gave up four runs, all earned, on eight hits in five innings in a losing effort.
