Lakewood avoids first home sweep of the season
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Lakewood needed a win to avoid being swept at home for the first time this season at FirstEnergy Park, and they got just that, taking a convincing 9-1 victory over the Charleston RiverDogs on Monday night.
Mike Cisco helped the BlueClaws move to 4-0 in his starts with five solid innings in what was basically a must-win game for Lakewood. The 21-year old right- hander did allow the first run in any of his starts, though it was unearned. Cisco (2-0) allowed five hits and did not walk a batter. He has now thrown 23 innings in a Lakewood uniform without issuing a single walk.
