Lakewood claims first win against Greensboro in 2008

The BlueClaws got eight strong innings from Drew Naylor and hung on for a 3-2 victory over Greensboro on Wednesday afternoon at FirstEnergy Park. Naylor (4-2) allowed just two runs over his eight innings, while allowing six hits. It was the third time in his last four starts that the BlueClaws ace lasted at least eight innings.

Right-hander strikes out career-best 13 in complete game

Drew Naylor struck out a career high 13 hitters in a complete game effort, helping the BlueClaws to a 6-1 victory over the Delmarva Shorebirds on Thursday night at FirstEnergy Park. Naylor, who was named to the North Division All Star team earlier this week, showed why he is one of the best pitchers in the South Atlantic League. He cruised through nine innings for his second complete game of the season, allowing just five hits. He walked one Shorebird hitter, while striking out a career-best 13.

Aussie right-hander strikes out 12 in complete game

Drew Naylor threw a complete game to carry the BlueClaws to a 6-1 victory over Kannapolis on Saturday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. It was the third straight winning decision for the 21- year old right-hander, who continued to justify his status as staff ace. Naylor gave up just one run on two hits, while getting seven 1-2-3 innings. He fanned a career-high 12 Kannapolis hitters and issued one walk.

Loss ensures fourth place first half finish

The BlueClaws were kept in check by Delmarva starter Luis Noel on Saturday night, as the Shorebirds captured a 5-1 victory over Lakewood at Perdue Stadium. Noel (7-1) struck out a career-high best 10 hitters in seven innings of work, also a season-long. He allowed just one run on five hits, surrendering only a third inning BlueClaws tally.
