This past weekend over 1,300 Scouts and adult volunteers participated in the first of its kind Jersey Shore Council DEP Camporee.  It was a great success with fun had by all and nearly 3,000 hours of community service performed at Island Beach State Park.  We truly left the park better than we found it.  Read more about DEP Camporee 2008 a Great Success .

Lakewood claims series sweep over Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. -- Mike Durant matched a BlueClaws franchise record with seven RBIs on Saturday night to help Lakewood to a 11-5 victory over the Suns and a four-game series sweep.

Duarant finished 3-for-6 with a home run and two doubles. He went deep for the 15th time this season in the third inning to drive in three and give Lakewood a 4-0 lead. He added a pair of two-RBI doubles--one in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Sampson gives 'Claws six strong frames

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Mike Durant's two-RBI double in the bottom of the eighth helped the BlueClaws to a comeback 4-3 victory over the Delmarva Shorebirds on Tuesday night at FirstEnergy Park.

The BlueClaws nearly wasted one of the best starts of the season from Julian Sampson, when the Shorebirds rallied for two unearned runs in the top of the eighth off of Moises Melendez. But Lakewood rallied for three runs in the home half of the inning to take the come-from-behind win.
